Re-Connecting Again And --

Hoping - to climb out of my funk and find my words again because I've felt strangely empty and silent lately -- and the sooner, the better because it is after all the season to be merry!

Still trying to come to terms with - celebrating number fifty-five back in October. For someone who doesn't think in terms of age, it sure did knock me for a loop and I think is at least partly responsible for my funk -- I mean it's just a number, right?

Knitting - the Best Friend Scarf. The yarn is from Brew City Yarns, and the colorway is Wine In A Sippy Cup. Both the pattern and the yarn are very aptly named. It's for my daughter who is one of my very best friends, and we have both been known to enjoy our wine, although, not out of sippy cups.

Currently Reading - The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. I don't know if I've ever used the word delightful before, but that is the perfect word for this book! I'm very much looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I'm still trying to finish up the books I wanted to read for Book Bingo - only one more to go! And speaking of Book Bingo, I was very surprised to find my name picked in the drawing for a prize (an Amazon gift card) which I used to purchase -- more books!

Watching - Binge watched my way through Mad Men - for the ? time. Currently watching The Kettering Incident and Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Video. I've only watched the first episode of The Kettering Incident, but have a feeling it may be a while before I get back to it as I'm very much enjoying Mozart in the Jungle. The music in it is making me wish we still had our subscription to the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Stitching - Recently finished Where the Bittersweet Blooms by Brenda Gervais.

Preparing for - Christmas? Just another reminder of how quickly time moves - almost ready for a new year.

Thanks for reading -- hope you are all in the holiday spirit and if you are interested, there are some good things here!

Your fall piece turned out great. Thank you for the book recommendation.

Happy belated birthday to someone ten years younger than me. If you are really feeling down, take a clue from your yarn and try some wine in a sippy cup! Darling little stitch. I will check your delightful book. My sister loves Jan Karon and has read them all so I need to start looking for something else similar.

Some birthdays are more troublesome than others. I can agree with Marly's comment and then add a few more years. I always like ideas for books and I love the Fall piece.

Belated birthday wishes to you. You have been busy with lots of things. I completed my Goodread challenge of 24 books this year and I don't think I can manage more reading, so I will continue next year with the same count. Congrats on the book bingo reward and enjoy reading.

Happy belated birthday, Penny. And you are right - it's just a number :)
Lovely knitting and stitching to be seen here. That colour combo of the yarn looks terrific. And the Brenda Gervais design is so sweet, great finish.
I'm so behind with my reading and it would be an understatement to say that this has been a very bad reading year for me. I think next year I have to turn down the number of books that I want to read, so maybe it won't be so disappointing as this year.

Happy Belated Birthday, Penny! I'll reach that milestone myself next year :-) I do hope to see you back here more often. I've struggled with losing my voice on the blog and it's hard to overcome. But December is a lovely month to share. Peace, my friend.

Always so good to catch up with you and your life, Penny--I miss you when you're not posting as much :)

Happy 55th!! That is a milestone and I always have more trouble with my birthdays that end in "5" than the big "0" ones for some reason. I'm still amazed that I'll be 62 next month. Sigh...

Love your scarf--what a great name for that yarn! And I've passed over that book a few times--perhaps it is time to give it a go. Congratulations on your Amazon gift card!

Love your stitching finish--another "must stitch" one of these days.

I hope you enjoy your countdown to Christmas--it is such a busy time of year. Too busy! I need to simplify and cut back in the future...

Happy belated birthday! Yes, sometimes those birthdays can really hit us, can't they? But yes, it's just a number. Time sure does fly, though, doesn't it? Love your finish. Love books. Have to look up that one you're reading. Have yet to watch Mad Men. I know, how can that be? lol!

Congratulations on your birthday, that's the next big age for me, only 18 months till I get there! A lovely cake you had.
Great scarf, that looks nice and cosy.
Congratulations on your amazon voucher, some nice reads you have chosen.
Lovely stitchy finish.
Enjoy the festive season and I hope the new year brings lots of wonderful times for you to enjoy.

Happy Belated Birthday Penny. So lovely to see a posy from you. Love the scarf you're knitting for your daughter and your stitching finish is brilliant.

I think we all get in a bit of a funk from time to time and sometimes it's so hard to get out of.

Merry Christmas!
