Holly

I'm happy to say is finally finished!

Christmas went by in a blur. My parents have required quite a bit of my time lately resulting in some very long days. I'm afraid I had a mini meltdown the other day. I just feel physically and mentally worn out. Hauling 50-pound bags of horse feed and maintaining two homes has taken a toll. And of course, I'm worried about my husband. All of your kind words have really meant a lot to me. I'm literally bleary-eyed by the time I read email and comments and hope I haven't missed responding to anyone. I'm hoping to carve out a little time to think about my plans (stitching, reading, knitting, etc.) for the coming year. After a brief hiatus from school, I will be going back in February. My focus for the year is to finish - after all I don't want to take the mature student status too far.

Just a few Christmasy pictures

Lola thinks we put the tree up every year just for her and was very indignant when I had to put the gifts under it.

And my husband and I many moons ago

And I guess I need a disclaimer after being informed by a helpful soul that I'm not a writer. Well, I'm not a writer. I'm a math and science person. :)

Again, thank you, everyone, for your kind words concerning my husband and for taking the time to visit! Wishing you all a healthy and happy new year!

P.S. We have been given a date of January 14th for my husband's surgery, so continued prayers and good thoughts are much appreciated!

Holly is absolutely stunning.... That you could manage to finish anything at this point amazes me... I can relate to the two-home/husband-stress thing all to well, and will keep you close in thought and prayer. Hope your new year is filled with better things, and some magic and miracles tossed in. I love your finish! Love the pics of you and DH as kids too. I will be sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts for your DH. Positive thinking is good! I'm sorry to hear you have to take care of two households. Do take care of yourself. You are important too. I'll be thinking of you and your DH and parents.

Holly is just beautiful! I will certainly keep your DH in my prayers. It's been one of those years. I came close to loosing my best friend so I know how worry goes.

I am so sorry things are really hard right now. I know from others who have had the responsibility that you have now, and it's wearing! I hope some other resolution can come soon to help you and everyone else out.

What a pretty finish, Penny! I hadn't seen that one before. If you are still looking for something to pass that chart too I would love it. I know I haven't been stitching but a small piece may be something I can use to get back to it.

Sending you good thoughts and hugs!

So sorry to hear that you are so stressed out and feel so exhausted. I hope that you will have some days now where you can relax and restore your health. I will be thinking of your husband and hope that everything goes well for him.
Your stitched piece looks so good. I wish you some more stitching time before you go back to school in February. Have a happy and healthy year 2016.

I totally understand the mini-meltdown thing, Penny, as I had one just the other night, myself, and I've been dealing with a lot less than you! It is totally understandable and I hope and pray that your husband's surgery is successful and that he recovers quickly.

I love your new finish and the photos of yourself and your husband--how very cute and a wonderful reminder of a kinder, gentler time... Hope your new year is a happy, healthy, stitch-filled one! Sending a caring hug your way :)

Penny: I will be praying for a full recovery for your Husband, I hope all goes well.
I am like you I take care of two homes, it is taxing on the mind and body, my Mother still lives at home and is limited to movement.
I am in love with your finished stitching, it is adorable, I hope you post a picture after you frame it or whatever you have planned.
