Home Sweet Home

This is Home Sweet Home Sampler by Pineberry Lane. For me, home sweet home is a sentiment I feel very strongly. I will be going back to school in a few weeks (which I'm very excited about) and don't expect to have much free time to devote to fun things like stitching. I've also been cautiously enjoying that things have been quieter with my parents lately but that will change at some point I'm sure. :)

I wish I had more to show but have been trying to shake a gastrointestinal illness that just doesn't want to go away. I can't seem to get the house cool enough, so couple the warmth outside with a fever and I've been covered with a fine sheen of sweat or perspiration whichever you prefer. Whatever name you give it, it makes me feel cranky and not in the mood to do much of anything. We did take a few days to visit the Salem County Fair in New Jersey. I felt bad for the sheep covered in wool and the rabbits with all of that very warm looking fur. Some of the luckier rabbits had bottles filled with ice water and they were taking full advantage of them.

A question - do you find it creepy, odd (insert adjective of your choosing) when someone starts from your first blog post and reads all the way through? I love to do that and have to say that looking at all of the beautiful framing and stitching has been one of the few things that has made feeling like crap bearable. :) I have been informed several times though, that some people don't feel comfortable with someone doing that. I was even called that crazy person from Delaware once. I think I would be flattered, but everyone is entitled to their feelings I guess. :)

I apologize for not leaving many comments lately - surely I will feel better soon. I do appreciate everyone who visits my blog and enjoy reading your comments! To all of the no-reply commenters, I will take this opportunity to thank you all! I hope everyone finds some free time this weekend to enjoy some stitching! And come on cooler temperatures!!

Hi there - not a good summer to have a fever! I think that if you put something out there, as in a blog, people are entitled to read whatever is public. IF I had a blog (I'm much too scattered for that) I would be flattered someone found my writing interesting enough to read the whole thing from day one.
Good luck in school.

I sure hope you feel better soon. Sounds like between the weather and your fever, you are getting close to becoming a sticky stitcher like me!! Human velcro! I have no idea how a blog owner would know that someone read their entire blog. When I find a new one, I some times do that - I thought that was the purpose of a blog! I love that Pineberry Lane design.

I'm glad you found some time to stitch this adorable piece in between not feeling well and preparing to go back to school, Penny! Sounds like your life will be busier than ever in a few weeks, but how exciting to have new classes to look forward to!

I don't find it odd when people look back through posts. My blog began very simply and just as a way of keeping track of my finishes. And 3 1/2 years later it is so much more than that--the friends I've made and the inspiration I've received through blogging is amazing!!

We've cooled off here in western PA so I hope those nice temperatures are headed your way...

Oh I hope you feel 100% soon! Summer is a rotten time to be feeling "under the weather"!

Love your new finish! "Home Sweet Home" is indeed a comforting sentiment!

I'll weigh in and say I don't think it's odd to read through someone's blog ... been known to do it myself. I'm new to blogging so I feel I'm behind on admiring everyone's beautiful stitching!

I think it's perfectly normal to read back over a blog! In fact my first post is the 2nd most read post on my blog according to the stats so you're not alone in doing that.

Wonderful finish! Sorry you haven't been feeling well and hope it passes soon. When I find a new blog, I often go backwards thru it. I don't always read the entire thing but love looking at the finishes or whatever else the blogger shows. Good luck at school!

Congrats on your sweet finish. I hope you'll be feeling better soon.
I see nothing wrong with reading back over a blog.

Hi Penny! I love your new finish! I just bought it too and I just love Pineberry Lane!

No, I don't think it's creepy to go to a blog and start from day 1. I think if you, as a reader, has the time, why not? The whole point of blogging is to share and if someone wants to get to know you from Day 1, that's just "swell".

I hope you feel better soon! Get rested before the "fun" of school starts again! Take care!

Oh, that's a wonderful finish. And it made me look up Pineberry Lane designs and add a couple of them to my wish list. This one too :)))
Why would some people think that it's odd to read someone's blog from the beginning? Aren't public blogs just there for being read by fellow stitchers? I've been doing this from time to time, too, and it has been very inspiring (and has extended my wish list enormously, lol).
I hope that you'll be feeling much better soon.

Whoot Penny! I need to know all about the school thing. What are you studying? Such a brave thing to do. I am very excited for you.
In the meantime I hope that you are feeling better.
I don't think that is creepy. If you find something that you are interested in you read the whole thing. What a compliment. I will go back and look to see what other projects or finishing techniques are used.
I love your Home Sweet Home finish.
Have a restful weekend, get better because....school starts soon!!!!!
Hugs!

I hope you fully recover quickly. Never creepy! How can it be? What is it public for then? I have gone back to the beginning on a few blogs, but never made it through on them. It is fun to see how others started out.

lovely stitching :)
I think It's great when someone goes back to our older posts, that means our blog is interesting to the person who is reading :) I can only see that as a positive thing!
And I do it too! When I find a new blog that I really enjoy, I go back to see what I was missing before I started following :)

Hope you'll be 100% well soon!!

Hope that you are feeling better now. Being ill with fever in the midst of this summer heat must have been unbearable. So glad that your family was able to get away and enjoy the county fair, and lighten your spirits.

About reading through one's blog, doesn't bother me really. Sometimes new followers have told me that they have read back to read the posts and said that, "it is sort of way to get to know you". That is kind of nice, don't you think?

Very nice finish Penny! I love looking at old blog posts so I see nothing wrong with that.

Hope you are feeling better and that it starts to cool down where you are.

I hope that you are completely better now! And, I love your finish!!

I have gone back through blogs that I find interesting to see all of their stitching--I don't think it is odd at all.

How exciting that you are going back to school. What will you be studying?

Well, as you can see I have gone back a bit in your blog - hopped over from Jo's blog! What an odd sentiment, far as I am concerned if a blog is there it is for reading, how else do you find out about someone and also more importantly maybe NOT put your foot in it with a comment, lol! I just finished reading a blog from the beginning and loved it, almost like a good book!
