Finally finished! I may have said this before, but stitching that grass was better than a sleeping pill. A few stitches and I was nodding off. I know I don't want to stitch anymore grass for awhile. :)
Actually, this grass is a lot greener than the real thing around here. I know we were supposed to have a brief respite from the heat, but I must have missed it.
There were some heavenly breezes blowing off the water in Old New Castle the other day. This poor little guy was probably wishing he could strip his fur suit off. Because of the blazing sun he is a little hard to see.
Being busy with my parents has left my garden sadly neglected this year. I still can't believe I didn't buy any annuals. Thank goodness for perennials. These hardy little things aren't looking too bad.
I may be adding a new planting to my garden soon. It's called Vinny.
He is so sweet with people. Unfortunately, not so much with the other cats. This is the look he sometimes gives me when I have had to be firm with him.
My daughter has been in North Carolina for a week now and I still miss her terribly! I know it will get easier with time (I hope). This is a picture of her and my future son-in-law taken at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington, North Carolina.
I know we all go through tough times in life but those times become a little easier when you have wonderful blogging friends! I find encouragement in the lovely comments I receive! I appreciate everyone who takes the time to visit. I don't know if I will ever quit being amazed at the kindness I have found here in blogland.

Congratulations on a beautiful finish Penny! I love the grass area with all the animals in it although it does look as though it might have been a lot of work!

Beautiful finish! I just love this piece! It really is hard missing your kid, isn't it? I guess we're going through some of the same things right now.
Your sampler is beautiful... and I hear you about stitching all that grass. But, it's all well worth the effort when you see the final results.
Beautiful sampler finish! Very nice picture of your daughter and future SIL. Vinny♥
Congrats on the great finish!
I love that sampler, Penny! It's on my to-stitch pile but I must admit the grass has put me off so far! It's such a cute piece though. I love Beth's designs.
That's a lovely photo of your DD and your future SIL. My favourite pic though is Vinny! I just want to pick him up and give him a cuddle!
The sampler finish is beautiful-the grass was worth the long boring stitching! Your daughter is so lovely!
Gorgeous sampler! Vinny looks so sweet, he must be nice to have around. Your daughter is beautiful and she looks so happy with her fiance. I always enjoy your blog, Penny!

Lovely photo of your daughter and future son-in-law.
Congratulations. The more I see of this sampler the more I like it. Great job! Enjoyed the photos!
Your beautiful stitching is wonderful in this masterpiece sampler, Penny. It will be a family treasure!
I can empathcize with you, having several of our married children and grandchildren living many states away. It does get a little easier, with time, but we manage to keep in touch pretty often, so that does help.
Blessings for you, Penny.
Hi Penny. Love your blog! What an accomplishment finishing Never Let you Go. I'm just crazy about the little animals in the grass. Hope you get some relief from the heat soon, until then, my wish for you is that you get in plenty of stitching.
Linda
Never Let You Go turned out just beautiful! Can't wait to see what you start working on next :)
Congratulations on a beautiful finish. Stitching the grass is dull but the result so worth it.
Lovely flowers and your kitty is so cute.
Your DD and partner makes a beautiful couple.
Hugs,
Veronica.
Absolutely beautiful finish! Stitching grass is probably much healthier than popping a sleeping pill, and sounds like it was more effective than a cup of chamomile tea :)
What a beautiful finish Penny! I can imagine how boring stitching all that grass became but it was so worth the effort! Lovely pic of your daughter and future son-in-law.
WOO HOO! Beautiful finish Penny! I love all the details in that sampler and have it on my "to do" list!
Oh Penny, what a beautiful finish you have here. I love this kind of sampler with all the animals in the grass. But I also know from my own experience that it can be kind of boring to stitch all the grass, lol.
Oh, I'm so sorry your daughter is so far away, Penny... Not having a daughter I don't really know how it feels, but I can tell how her absence has left a hole in your heart. She looks very happy with her fiance so that must bring you some consolation...
Your sampler is gorgeous--I just love all those little creatures on the grass, especially the rooster. What a fun stitch (outside of the grass!) this must have been :)
