Oh Boy!

Just checking in, because I can't believe it has been a month. Yikes!! Family issues have seriously limited my stitching time. So try not to be overwhelmed with all of the lovely stitching photos. :)

I'm hoping to be finished with Never Let You Go by Heartstring Samplery in the next few days.

This is a freebie from The Drawn Thread called Four Fat Friends.

Vinny, the square peg, continues to try and fit in. He looks like he might be thinking "Why me?" :)

The lunch queue in my kitchen -

My husband and son recently spent an afternoon at Fair Hill, Maryland. It's a beautiful area and they have been going since my son was just a little boy. They have had many interesting father/son bonding adventures there. Like the time my son disappeared over an embankment and into the creek or the time he stopped to chat with a skunk on the trail. My son took this picture of Foxcatcher Farm Covered Bridge. Very tranquil looking.

We celebrated a milestone on June 1. I'm no longer the mother of a teenager. I can't believe my little boy is 20.

He has been a good kid and we are proud of him.

I really want to thank everyone who has stuck with this pitiful little blog. I'm always amazed when a new follower pops up. I want to say welcome and thank you to everyone who takes time to visit. I'm afraid I have fallen seriously behind in my commenting and hope to rectify that soon.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and relaxing weekend!

The sampler looks wonderful.... I, too, have that pattern and it is in my basket of things to do.... I just love it and seeing your's makes me feel like I want to get right at it immediately! But I am one of those people that must do one project at a time, and I am working on one right now, so it will have to wait a little while longer!

It's hard for me to believe I have two daughters in their 30's, and one who is 26.... Where does the time go with our little babies?? Happy Birthday to your son!!

Thanks for sharing all the lovely pictures. The sample is coming along well. I just love that scowl on Vinny's face. His expression is intense. Almost looks like Garfield the Cat. Glad you had a moment to drop a post. Happy Birthday to your young man.

Hey Penny!
Your Heartstring sampler looks great! Now you get to stitch that funky cow :) I love it. The DT piece is so sweet too.
I hope Vinny continues to work out his place in the kitty hierarchy. At least he it looks like he is getting some lap time.
Congratulations to you and your son on his 20th birthday!!
Have a great weekend, I hope that you get some time to stitch.

Happy birthday to your son!! I LOLed at the expression on Vinny's face in the photo of him--talk about a picture painting a thousand words! LOL Too cute.

LOVE your stitching! I hope to do that sampler soon, too.

Beautiful photos of Fair Hill! I remember when we went for a day trip/see where the car takes us sort of car ride down to that area. My son got car sick IN the car on the way home. We cleaned it up, of course, but the car still stunk of eau de barf. That night, I left the windows open in the car to air it out. Everybody on the street had their car broken into or vandalized, but ours was fine. We always figured that the vandals opened the car, took one whiff, and closed it back up again. LOL

Enjoy your weekend!

Penny, lovely to see a post from you! Your Heartstring Samplery piece is lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing you post a pic of it finished. Enjoyed seeing the other pics too. Belated birthday greetings to your son. I remember finding it strange no longer having a teenager around too.
